The Constant War Raging for Your Soul

We are in a perpetual war for our souls. Satan never sleeps and works hard to plant seeds of sin and compromise in people’s lives to lead them away from God. Jesus said, “While men slept, the enemy planted tares among the wheat.” (Matthew 13:25) While many people sleep spiritually and take life casually thinking everything is normal, in the spirit realm the war for their souls rages on.

What are Satan’s chief weapons? Rebellion, sin, and iniquity. Everything Satan does is aimed at getting us to rebel against God by sinning. He knows if we live in sin then he has got us because sin is the thing that separates us from God.

The hour is late and we are in the final moments of this age. Jesus is coming back soon. And as the word of God says: “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” Revelations 12:12

Beloved ones, life is spiritual. The war is on at every second for your soul. The devil knows HELL is real and wants to take as many as possible there with him. He doesn’t care whether or not you believe he exists, he doesn’t even care if you are a Christian, as long as he deceives you by keeping you in blissful ignorance, compromise, and spiritual slumber. Wake up and contend for your soul by turning to Jesus wholeheartedly. Only he can deliver you from the devil. Jesus is the only Savior and ransom for mankind’s sins. Without him, there is no hope.

Abide in Jesus, the overcomer!

It is not enough to be a Christian, that in and of itself cannot keep your soul from perishing. What is required to win his war to the end, is to live in absolute obedience and holiness to the Lord. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. The only way to be safe from the weapons of the enemy is to abide in the vine. Jesus will keep us safe if we remain in him. And the way to remain in him is to obey him. The sheep that stay close to the shepherd will be safe. The sheep that stray will be captured. Sin leads us away from Jesus and into the hands of the devil.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

John 15:4-7 

Hell is real and Heaven is real. The war for our souls shall not end until we die or Jesus returns to get us. As long as we are alive, we must stay alert and guard our souls from the evil one. We must endure to the end. Pray, study the word of God, fast, repent of any hidden sins, purpose to obey Jesus, submit to God, resist the devil, and then he will flee from you.

“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Matthew 24:13
