Hand of Hope Outreach

Hand of Hope Outreach exists to demonstrate the love of Christ by helping the poor and vulnerable—including widows, orphans, the sick, prisoners, and street children—through tangible and practical help such as food, clothing, shelter, medical care, school fees, and economic empowerment as the Lord provides.

This work is made possible in large part through the financial generosity of partners, as well as donations of clothing, shoes, food, Bibles, and child sponsorship.

By God’s grace and through our partners, we have been able to:

  • Support widows, vulnerable families, and children in slum communities with food, rent, school fees, and medical care
  • Rescue children from street life and drug addiction
  • Help children return to school through sponsorship
  • Preach the gospel and provide Bibles to the unreached in the slums and streets

Our desire is to be able to continue to do the above and even more to uplift the lives of the poor and vulnerable even as we share the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Need We Respond To

Across Kenya, many children and families live in extreme poverty, especially in slums and informal settlements. Many households are led by widows or single mothers struggling alone after abandonment or loss of income.

Poverty, addiction, broken homes, and lack of opportunity often lead children into street life, where they face drugs, violence, exploitation, crime, and even death. Many become trapped in cycles of survival on the streets.

Because of these conditions, many children never access education, and many families remain spiritually and physically unreached.

Jesus cares for these communities, and we seek to respond to His call to serve the “least of these” (Matthew 25:40).

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:37-40

The Lord Calls Us to Serve

Jesus taught that serving the poor is part of following Him:

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” — Matthew 20:28

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35

“Pure and undefiled religion is to care for widows and orphans.” — James 1:27

We believe even small acts of kindness can transform lives.

Meeting the tangible needs of the less fortunate is one of the key responsibilities of the disciples of Jesus. Jesus showed us by his example that we must serve each other. In his own ministry on earth, some of the money donated was used to help the poor (John 13:29).

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28

Ways You Can Partner With Us

1. Physical Donations

Clothes, shoes, blankets, utensils, and household items help families in deep need.

2. Bibles

Many cannot afford Bibles. A Bible in Nairobi costs about KES 800–1000 ($6–9). Donations help new believers grow in faith.

3. Child Sponsorship

Supporting a child’s education helps break cycles of poverty, addiction, and street life, giving them a chance at a better life. The average cost of sponsoring one child in Kenya for a year—including fees, transport, food, healthcare, uniforms, toiletries, and related costs—is $600 to $1,000, depending on age of the child, school type, and location.

4. Financial Support

Your giving supports our outreach work among vulnerable communities.
