Women’s Adornment & Head Covering

Women's Adornment & Head Covering

There seem to be certain areas or topics relating to the Christian life that once were almost no-brainers and practiced by the body of Christ for centuries from the early church days but were gradually discarded during the 20th Century.

For some reason, many of these things seem to be no longer taught much or practiced in the body of Christ, and in some instances completely ignored and deemed unnecessary. Yet, I have found that some of these matters affect our salvation as Christians because they directly violate God's clear commands in scripture.

Through ignorance, presumption, flippancy, and outright rebellion, modern Christianity is a far cry from what real Christianity was from the beginning.

In my years attending Pentecostal churches after I was born again, I never heard many of these things taught in the way scripture and early church fathers outline them.

Jesus warned that in the last days, the love of many would grow cold (Matthew 24:12) and the great falling away would happen (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3). I am convinced that some of these topics, especially on women's dressings and adornment and head covering, are not being taught in much of the body of Christ anymore because the church at large has become lukewarm and worldly, unlike the church of the ages past. Jesus told us this would happen in the last days. Also, we have an adversary working hard to send as many as he can to hell because he knows that his time is short.

I ask you to go through the links below for yourself prayerfully. I do not claim to have a full understanding but present them for your reflection and consideration. After all, we all shall give account to the Lord for what we believe based on what his word declares. "If you love me keep my commands." Jesus (John 14;15); "For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished." (Matthew 5:18)

Please prayerfully read, use your discernment, and ask the Lord to show you the truth as we are commanded to test every spirit (1 John 4:1-5) and also to study (the word) to show ourselves approved of God (2 Timothy 2:15). Do not believe anything without checking with God's word and prayer. Be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11).

These are not the days to blindly follow church culture and practices without enquiring in God's word for yourself as many churches have fallen away from the faith the Lord and his holy Apostles handed over to us. Jude tells us to contend for the faith handed to us (Jude:3-4). We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).

Also read an article I wrote about how plastic surgery, make-up, and fake hair, nails, etc., are forms of falsehood here:

Also from the Book of Enoch, we learn that it is fallen angels who taught women the art of make-up specifically, Azâzêl

"And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways." We see these things they taught them brought about godlessness, corruption, and fornication much as happens these days when women focus on amplifying their physical bodies.

Women's Trousers: "However, for much of modern history, the use of trousers has been restricted to men. This norm was enforced in many regions due to social customs and laws. There are, however, many historical cases of women wearing trousers in defiance of these norms such as the 1850s women rights movement, comfort, freedom of movement, fashion, disguise (notably for runaway slaves[2]), attempts to evade the gender pay gap, and attempts to establish an empowered public identity for women." My final comments:

Women's Adornment & Head Covering

Christian sisters, if you would like to do more study from scriptures and also church history and early church fathers on the topic of women's adornment, in the link below you will find lots of information.

In 2023, when the Lord was teaching me about this topic, I did a lot of study and research. I did not just depend on people's revelations because that is not enough of a defense of truth, but I studied all the scriptures I could find on the topics and also studied lots of materials on what the early church fathers taught and what the early church practiced and believed on these matters.

I have also listened to countless sermons on the subject from preachers of old to understand God's heart on this matter, and this is what personally convinced me to change the way I was dressing and to stop using makeup, jewelry, and all artificial items of beauty, and also to stop wearing trousers because, from my research, I learned that trousers were originally only made for men. The design itself with the opening at the front was for male functionality purposes (urination).

There was no idea about women's trousers until around the 1850s when the women's rights movements and dress-reform movements began rebelling against social norms and cultures. Before that, in much of the world, especially the Christian world, women wore dresses and skirts to distinguish them from men, and they were content with it. Harlots and rebellious women throughout wore trousers but faced open criticism for cross-dressing because they were rebellious women. Few women in the arts wore trousers in plays to act as men (but Christians stayed away from such arts and activities completely and considered them falsehoods). Acting was considered a profession not for Christians because it was deemed falsehood.

The issue of the sexes being distinct and separate, even in dress, goes back to creation, where God made them male and female and wanted their natures distinct and clear, perpetually to bring him honor. Cross-dressing was considered an abomination (Deuteronomy 22:5). When the sexes start getting mixed up, the gender authority structure in society, church, and home, as God ordained it, gets destroyed, as we can see now with the chaos in gender, families, and authority with women wanting to be equal to men in all respects. The matter of jewelry goes back to idolatry, which is why God, as far back as Exodus, asked the Israelites to put away their ornaments before he could look at them, and why Jacob asked his family to put away their earrings and jewelry when he went to seek God. Paul and Peter repeated it in the New Testament. In the book of Enoch, the history of makeup is given: fallen angels taught women how to create makeup ("And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures.")

Makeup is a falsehood, and just the idea of it is all about changing what God created or trying to enhance it, which is a slap in God's face. God gave us hairs, nails, and body features that reflect his glory. When we try to change them, we tell God that what he made was not good enough. Even these products themselves are truly called fake hair, fake lashes, fake nails, and makeup, betraying their nature. What is made up is not original. The author of all falsehood and lies is Satan. Not everything needs to be spelled out for us in scripture like children. God expects us to study his entire word and know what is displeasing to him.
