Why the LGBTQ Lifestyle Is Especially Abominable to God

This morning as I was studying Genesis 9, the Holy Spirit was highlighting to me why homosexuality and LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) sins in general are especially abominable to God and will lead a soul to some of the deepest torments in hell.

LGBTQ sins are particularly abominable to God because they end up creating, attracting, and attaching themselves to even more abominations.

1. Opposes God’s design for gender:

LGBTQ attacks God’s perfect work of creating the two genders by coming up with new identities that God did not create. Men want to be women, women want to be men, and some deny their gender identities altogether and try to create ones, e.g., non-binary, transgender, etc. These gender identities are rejected and detestable to God because they deny his handiwork of creation. They are false images not made in God’s but in Satan’s, the father of lies.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

2. Opposes God’s design for marriage:

LGBTQ denies God’s design for marriage between a man and woman. It creates detestable unions between people of the same sex and people who have changed their gender identities through surgery. These new unions are abominable to God since he did not create them. God himself instituted marriage in the garden of Eden and officiated it by bringing Eve and Adam together. God cannot bless an LGBTQ union.

“Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:22-24

3. Opposes God’s design for childbearing and population:

When God created Adam and Eve, he told them to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. He gave the same command to Noah and his sons after the flood when the world was repopulated again by them. The LGBTQ lifestyle hinders normal and natural childbirth within the context of marriage between a man and a woman. Two men cannot have children; neither can two women. As a result, creative and sinful ways to have children are invented. Examples include surrogacy, artificial insemination, and wombs for hire, which are not God’s design for childbirth and are detestable to God.

Because of the LGBTQ lifestyle, human population is also reduced. God’s command to be fruitful and multiply is therefore not honored. Men and women whom God designed to have children naturally and in male and female marriages do not because of this lifestyle.

“So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.’” Genesis 9:1

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

4. Opposes God’s design and plan for raising kids:

When children are raised in LGBTQ unions, they are not raised up God’s way. This leads to dysfunction and the spread of more sin and perversion in the earth. God designed for children to be raised by a father and mother in the context of marriage. Father and mother being a natural man and woman. The aberrations of the LGBTQ lifestyle disadvantage children by denying them what God designed as healthy families for children in order that they may know him.

God cannot bless an LGBTQ family, and so these children grow up away from God’s protection. They are exposed to Satan and his demons, who have free access to that family since it is not of God. This act of selfishness places children’s souls in eternal danger. It also leaves their lives open to the infiltration and control by demonic spirits.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

5. Invents ungodly and unnatural sex acts:

Because of the nature of LGBTQ unions, the act of sex is also corrupted. People have sex not in the way God intended between man and wife. Same-sex unions and transgender unions involve gross acts of sexual perversion such as anal sex, oral sex, masturbation, using artificial sex organs, and so forth, which are abominable to God. The LGBTQ lifestyles corrupt the human body and make it a horde of demons. It opens up those involved in it to sexual demons and principalities, which lead these people deeper into more perversions.

“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.” Leviticus 18:22

“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.” Romans 1:26

“Furthermore, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless.” Romans 1:28-31

6. Makes a mockery of God’s rainbow:

When God destroyed the world through the flood because of sin, he swore to Noah that he would never again destroy the entire world by the flood despite human beings’ inherent wickedness. The sign of this promise was the rainbow. Satan has taken God’s symbol of mercy and inspired the LGBTQ community to use it as their sign of diversity of sexuality. It is an act of great blasphemy and mockery to God. Satan uses the rainbow to affirm these abominable lifestyles that God hates as a way to revile God and mock his creation and mercy on the human race. It is a terrible insult to God.

“Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.” Genesis 8:21

“And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.” Genesis 9:12-15

7. Opposes God’s worship:

The LGBTQ lifestyle opposes the worship of God as the true creator God, leading its followers to worship a false god who is actually Satan. It is not possible to worship God while involved in this lifestyle because it denies God as the creator by attacking his work of creating mankind as male and female for marriage and procreation.

The LGBTQ lifestyle denies God as the perfect creator who made man in his image and likeness without any mistake and to glorify him. It effectually tells God he made a mistake and was confused about making people how he made them. Transgenders go as far as attempting to change their genders, with some even mutilating their bodies to cut off sexual organs and create others and trying to change their genders medically and surgically.

“When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 18:9-12

8. Internalizes pride and rebellion against God:

The LGBTQ movement is also called LGBTQ Pride or simply “Pride,” a symbol of their affirmation and acceptance of this lifestyle in rebellion to God’s word. They have Pride Month every June, dedicated to the celebration of all varieties of LGBTQ lifestyles, often filled with much nudity and sexual perversion.

The LGBTQ rainbow flag is also called the pride flag. In modern times we see much pride coming from this movement as they get bolder and bolder in pushing for their acceptance in every area of society. God calls pride an abomination. He also calls rebellion an act of witchcraft, and he says witchcraft is abominable to him.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23

“Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; though they join forces, none will go unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5

9. Damns souls to hell:

Because of the nature of the LGBTQ lifestyles, such as gay, lesbian, and transgender—the fact that they have been repackaged as the nature of someone or how they were born—many people stop seeing them as sins. No other sin has been so accepted, institutionalized, legitimized, and even protected by law as this one.

People get married, adopt, and have children, and so it is made to seem normal. This makes it especially dangerous since it has shifted from being looked at as a sin by the world to being someone’s nature and so acceptable. As a result, people’s hearts become hardened to it, and they never repent or leave this lifestyle, damning their souls to hell for eternity. This grieves God most of all because it’s not his wish for any to perish.

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

God is merciful to forgive.

Despite all these things, God is still merciful and will forgive any sins and all manner of abominations men commit if only they will humble themselves, acknowledge their sins, accept that Jesus Christ died to set them free from these sins, and receive by faith the salvation, redemption, and forgiveness only he can offer.

As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:11, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” Such were some of us, including myself. Only Jesus has the power to truly wash away sins, change LGBTQ desires and natures corrupted by the devil, and make us new creatures as he originally designed us to be, made after his image and likeness.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:21-24
