You Must Be Born Again to Be a Child of God
All human beings are creatures of God, but not all are children of God. One only becomes a child of God by believing in the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross for our sins and the reconciliation he alone provides with the Father. Without Jesus, we are not children of God, however good we think we are. The Bible says those who are not in Christ are the children of the devil. This is by default because all are sinners without Christ. We do the work of the devil, which is sin, when we don’t have Jesus as our savior, because only he can forgive sins and change our sinful nature into his nature.
Let us never deceive ourselves that God is our Father if we do not have a relationship with Jesus. Until God gives us birth through the birth canal of the cross and the torn flesh of Jesus and his death and resurrection, we are not his children.
The privilege of sonship is given to those who have turned away from their old life of sin and run to the Lord Jesus for salvation and new life. Are you a child of God? You can be today.
“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Romans 8:14-17
“He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will.” Ephesians 1:5
