Where Will You Spend Your Eternity?
Where we spend eternity is the most important decision we make while alive.
Not how much money we make;
Not if we get married.
Not houses and lands.
Not friends and family.
Not promotions and wealth.
Not entertainment and travel.
Not what people think about us.
Heaven and hell are the two destinations. Our choice is made now and here while we are alive.
This life compared to eternity is like the twinkling of an eye (even a blink is too long).
What is 80 years compared to all eternity (trillions upon trillions times infinity)?
To mock and ignore this important decision or take a chance to die without making sure is a great folly.
Eternity is not up for debate. The decision is all God’s.
The fool thinks he can debate with God.
God has made the way to eternity with him clear, and there are no debates or discussions available.
Jesus Christ and obedience to him is THE WAY. Jesus is the only door.
To spend endless time debating and arguing, and trying to outsmart people with human wisdom, is all in vain and only serves to puff up the ego. Human wisdom will not save anyone and does not impress God.
He says the wisdom of this world is foolishness to him (1 Corinthians 3:19).
My friend, don’t listen to people, don’t compare yourself with people, and don’t comfort yourself with false hopes from wise-sounding men.
The Bible says the message of the cross of Christ is FOOLISHNESS to those who are perishing (1 Corinthians 1:18). But this is the way God has chosen to save mankind. Rather be a fool to the world and be the wise one at the end.
“Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.” 1 Corinthians 1:20-21
The wise think about their eternity.
Eternity is a long time, and the Lake of Fire will not be one big party. Those who end up there will regret it for all eternity with weeping and gnashing of teeth and eternal torment. And as if that is not enough, they shall be able to see the redeemed in heaven, but there will be no way for them to get there, and that will increase their sorrow as they remember all the wasted opportunities when they were alive and all the time they mocked preachers and messages like this and thought Christians to be backward, old-fashioned, and foolish (Isaiah 66:24).
Oh, their memories shall torment them for all eternity, but it will be too late. They will wish for death, but death shall also have been cast into the lake of fire with them (Revelation 20:14).
“As they go forth, they will see the corpses of the men who have rebelled against Me; for their worm will never die, their fire will never be quenched, and they will be a horror to all mankind.” Isaiah 66:24
God is mocked, my friends. Fear him. Never mock and scoff at God and his people. You’d rather be quiet and ask God to show you the truth. Eternity shall reveal who was truly the fool. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God (Psalm 14:1).
Jesus has made the way for eternity with him forever. We need not perish!
Jesus has shed His blood to save us. He loved us that greatly. What have we ever done for him? He has proven his love, but men mock and spit at his sacrifice. No one will ever accuse God of being unfair. Now is the day of salvation. A day is coming when it will be too late.
It is appointed unto man to die once, and after that, the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Each of us has our exit, and then our fates are sealed. After death, all the tears will avail nothing. God is giving us time now. Now is the time of grace. What will you do with this great salvation? God has died for us, paying the price for our sins, and he only asks us to believe and trust in that sacrifice and accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord. That is the way to be born again and receive a new nature that can know and love God.
You have an appointment with God!
The final judgment at the end of the age will come, as sure as the sun rises in the east. It is an appointment we must all keep and cannot escape from. It may seem like a faraway dream, but it shall come because God cannot lie.
Be wise. Reject the world and its wisdom and flee to the risen Lord for salvation. He offers peace with God, freedom from slavery to sin, and life eternal.
