Holiness Is the Fruit of Abiding in Christ
God expects holiness, and without holiness no man shall see God (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15). However, we don’t “achieve” holiness by our own efforts. Christ is our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. He imputes his righteousness to us, and our sanctification happens as we abide in Christ. It’s the fruit of abiding in him and his word and loving him, not solely our own human effort.
God’s grace not only saves us, it teaches and empowers us to be holy as he is holy. The true child of God will produce the fruit of righteousness in his life. This happens as he continues to grow in the knowledge of God and his will. He desires to please God because his nature has been changed (Romans 6:22, Colossians 1:10).
Our sanctification, or holiness, is the work of the Spirit of God. We just get to cooperate with him.
God’s grace produces holiness in us
Grace teaches or instructs us to be godly, not ungodly.
Anyone using grace as an excuse to continue to live in sin has received the grace of demons, not of God. God is holy; he cannot produce unholiness in his children.
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone. It INSTRUCTS us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live SENSIBLE (sober), UPRIGHT (righteous), and GODLY lives in the present age, as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave Himself for us to redeem us from ALL LAWLESSNESS and to PURIFY FOR HIMSELF A PEOPLE for His own possession, zealous for GOOD DEEDS.” Titus 2:11-14
“And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.” 1 John 2:28

Have you given your life to Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior? He loves us so much that he, our creator, left heaven and came to earth, died for us on the cross, taking our sins upon him so that we may be forgiven and receive his righteousness. He conquered death by rising from the dead and made a way for us who were dead in sin to be reconciled back to the Father (God). What’s more, he has prepared a wonderful home for us in Heaven, where those who love him and obey him will spend eternity with him.
