The Only Gospel Is the Gospel of Jesus Christ
The only gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Not the gospel of holiness;
Not the gospel of grace;
Not the gospel of repentance;
Not the end times gospel;
Not the gospel of faith;
There are no other gospels.
Jesus is the source of true holiness, righteousness, grace, repentance, and faith. However, these things, by themselves, are not the gospel because they cannot stand alone without him. Neither can they save apart from him. He is supreme. He is the good news. Look to him, all the ends of the earth, and be saved. (Isaiah 45:22).
Jesus Christ himself is the gospel.
He is the hidden mystery of God.
He is the wisdom and the power of God.
Jesus is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
Jesus is the messiah.
Jesus is God.
Jesus is the creator.
Jesus is eternal life.
Jesus Christ is the Gospel
JESUS IS THE GOSPEL. Any message centered on anything or anyone else other than Jesus Christ, no matter how holy and godly it sounds, is a false gospel leading men away from Christ to lesser things.
“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” Mark 1:1
“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” Colossians 1:26-28
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15
