The Holy Spirit, Our Perfect and Sufficient Teacher

Jesus has not left us as orphans, fatherless, or bereaved. He left us the Holy Spirit to be in us and with us. The Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher, and guide. He is a person, and he speaks and does the work he was left to do. He is also grieved by sin and disobedience.

Sadly, many Christians have replaced the Holy Spirit with gimmicks, prophets, divination, human mediators, “men of God,” physical items like oil, water, and so forth, which is absolute blasphemy. Trading the perfect for the imperfect. And it’s no wonder deception is so great in our day.

The Holy Spirit wants a relationship with us, and if we acknowledge him, talk to him, obey him, listen to him, and trust him, we will find him to be a very real companion, teacher, and guide who will keep us from deception and teach us all things as Jesus did. But just like God, the Holy Spirit does not infringe on our free will. We will experience as much of him as we allow.

It is unnecessary to go running up and down seeking men as if we were orphans when we have the Holy Spirit within us and with us, but have ignored him. I speak not against the legitimate gifts of teaching given by the Holy Spirit himself, but against the flagrant seeking of men to replace the position of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Trust the Holy Spirit and cultivate a relationship with him through studying the Word, prayer, and communion with him. He will teach you all things and guide you into all truth. He is perfect, and unlike men, he does not and cannot lie and will ALWAYS glorify the Lord Jesus.

“But the anointing that you have received from Him abides/remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; but as the same anointing TEACHES YOU CONCERNING ALL THINGS, and is true, and is NOT A LIE, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” 1 John 2:27

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will GUIDE you into ALL TRUTH; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will TEACH you ALL THINGS and bring to your REMEMBRANCE ALL THINGS that I said to you.” John 14:26

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.” For the Spirit searches ALL THINGS, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the THINGS OF GOD except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might KNOW THE THINGS that have been freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-12

“It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall ALL be TAUGHT BY GOD.’ Therefore, everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” John 6:45

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another HELPER, that He may ABIDE WITH YOU FOREVER — the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Ephesians 4:30

“Do not quench (extinguish, suppress) the Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Have you given your life to Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior? He loves us so much that he, our creator, left heaven and came to earth, died for us on the cross, taking our sins upon him so that we may be forgiven and receive his righteousness. He conquered death by rising from the dead and made a way for us who were dead in sin to be reconciled back to the Father (God). What’s more, he has prepared a wonderful home for us in Heaven, where those who love him and obey him will spend eternity with him.
