Mark and Avoid False Preachers and Doctrines
A little leaven leaves the whole lump. A little false preaching corrupts the soul. False preachers must never be given a listening ear. Mark and avoid them. Listening to them even a little will expose you to their deceptions, and you will start questioning yourself eventually. Don’t say, “Well, he teaches the truth sometimes.” Mark and avoid.
God takes falsehood very seriously. If you listen to or have fellowship with false prophets, God counts you among them as a betrayer of his Son Jesus Christ and his gospel. As believers, our loyalty lies with Jesus before men. Apostle John tells us not to greet them or eat with them. Unless they repent, have nothing to do with false preachers; otherwise, you will share their fate. Even sitting in their churches is an offense to God. We cannot eat at the table of God and demons at the same time.
“You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons too.” 1 Corinthians 10:21
Apostle John warned us not to even greet deceivers or false preachers because they are antichrists. Yet in these days, false prophets who preach false, motivational, lukewarm, twisted, gnostic, watered-down, and new age gospels have the largest followers. Not only do Christians greet them, but sit under them and defend them.
“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John:10-11
It’s a scary time we are in. Many will come from church straight to hell because they have chosen to mock the gospel and the Lord Jesus, who bought them.
Do not even click on these deceivers YouTube videos lest you partake of their sins, let alone attend their churches. False teachings are bewitching; Satan is a master seducer. To follow a false preacher is to slap Jesus in the face. Be more loyal to the one who died for you, even if you have to stand alone.
If you have the HOLY SPIRIT, you will know them. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. If we truly allow him to lead us, he does, and he will warn us of these deceivers because he is the SPIRIT OF TRUTH. But if you have itching ears already and do not love the truth, or have idols in your heart, you’re easy prey for these seducers. They appeal to those who love this world.
Below is a warning from Ignatius of Antioch (AD 35-107), a respected early church Father:
Avoid Schismatics
“Brethren, be not deceived. If any man follows him that separates from the truth, he shall not inherit the kingdom of God; and if any man does not stand aloof from the preacher of falsehood, he shall be condemned to hell. For it is obligatory neither to separate from the godly, nor to associate with the ungodly. If anyone walks according to a strange opinion, he is not of Christ, nor a partaker of His passion; but is a fox, a destroyer of the vineyard of Christ. Have no fellowship with such a man, lest ye perish along with him, even should he be thy father, thy son, thy brother, or a member of thy family. For says [the Scripture], “Thine eye shall not spare him.” You ought therefore to “hate those that hate God, and to waste away [with grief] on account of His enemies.”
I do not mean that you should beat them or persecute them, as do the Gentiles “that know not the Lord and God; ” but that you should regard them as your enemies, and separate yourselves from them, while yet you admonish them, and exhort them to repentance, if it may be they will hear, if it may be they will submit themselves. For our God is a lover of mankind, and “will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Wherefore “He makes His sun to rise upon the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust; ” of whose kindness the Lord, wishing us also to be imitators, says, “Be ye perfect, even as also your Father that is in heaven is perfect.”
