Go and Tell Others What He has Done!

We must always tell others what Jesus has done for us in saving us and not be ashamed or keep quiet about our testimonies because they are one of the best ways to testify for the Lord.

Sharing what God has done for you is personal, and it is REAL, and usually, it will connect with others who have been through the same thing. This is a method Jesus encouraged, the sharing of personal experience. Changed lives are one of the greatest witnesses to the power of our Lord and his gospel.

A few examples from scripture are below:

1. The man of the Gadarenes who had a legion of demons and lived naked, cutting himself in the tombs.

“And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” Mark 5:18-19

2. The Samaritan woman who had had 5 husbands and was living with a 6th man

“The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” Then they went out of the city and came to Him.” John 4:28-30

“Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” John 4:42

3. The 12 Apostles of the Lord

“But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:29-32

“And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.” John 15:27

“For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” 2 Peter 1:16

4. The man born blind whom Jesus healed

“Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” John 9:10-11

5. Apostle Paul

“For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.” Acts 22:15

“But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.” Acts 26:16

6. Apostle Philip

“Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:45-46

7. King David

“I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.” Psalms 40:1-3

Go and do likewise! Tell others. Don’t be ashamed. Your own testimony or testimonies of the Lord’s workings in your own life are a witness that he lives! Satan will try to keep you silent, but speak and hold not your peace. The more you share, the stronger your own faith gets as well.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11
