The Lake of Fire was not Created for Man
The lake of fire was never created for man. God prepared it for Satan and the third of angels who rebelled together with him against God. But men go to hell when they refuse the gift of salvation God has given through Jesus to save us from our sinful nature inherited from our first parents, Adam and Eve. Every day many die without Jesus Christ and face eternity separated from God.
Adam and Eve believed Satan’s lies in the Garden of Eden and sinned (Genesis 3). As a result, the entire human race was corrupted by sin and rebellion. But God in his wisdom and great love for man, made a way for us to be reconciled back to him. This way was through Jesus Christ becoming the ransom for our sins and dying on the cross in our stead.
When we reject God’s offer and gift of salvation, we are by default choosing Satan and his rebellion. And sadly, the end for all people who reject God’s salvation is to follow Satan to the lake of fire. No one will accuse God of being unjust on that last day. We all make our choices. There is no middle way. It’s God or Satan. And God means Jesus Christ. There is no other way by which men can be saved, except Jesus Christ.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”
Acts 4:12
Rejecting God is choosing the lake of fire
Rejecting God is choosing Satan and if Satan is your father, you go where he goes. He claims you upon death in hell, and on the day of the final judgment, you get cast into the lake of fire with him. So, you see, God does not send people to hell. They send themselves there. He has made the way for all of us to get to heaven, but he cannot force us to accept it. Love offers choice. God cannot force us to love him or want to be with him.
There are only two roads as the bible says: The narrow road to heaven or the broad way to hell. There is no middle ground. You cannot abstain from making this decision. A lack of decision for Jesus is a decision for Satan. It is a willful decision to remain in sin and all sinners can only go to hell. The broad way is the easy way and many follow it. It is choosing to remain as we are, in our sin, living in rebellion against God. The narrow road is difficult, and it is one of accepting Jesus as our savior and Lord and allowing him to make us righteous and holy like our Father. Heaven is a holy city and only the holy can enter in.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Mattew 7:13-14
Jesus made the way and is the way to heaven
Jesus Christ is the propitiation (appeasement) for our sins and it is only through him that we are accounted righteous with God. When we believe in him and what he did for us on the cross, and put our faith in him, he imputes his righteousness upon us. We then become sons of God and no longer sons of the devil as we all otherwise are without him.
“He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.”
1 John 2:2
Please do not go to the lake of fire. It was never meant for you. It is a terrible eternal fate and one that can be avoided by choosing to let our creator be our father again through Jesus Christ our Lord! Be reconciled to God! He loves you deeply. Only love sent Jesus on that cross to suffer so brutally to pay for sins we could never pay for.
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20
