A Few Names Who Have Not Defiled Their Garments
No matter where we are placed and the quality and state of the faith and Church around us, the Lord has given us the ability to stand and be holy. It is an individual choice. The church in Sardis was dead and asleep, yet even in their midst, the Lord Jesus said that there were a few names, even in Sardis (despite the dead state of the church), who had not defiled their garments with sin and compromise. They were awake, alive, and worthy to walk with him in white, and he would not erase their names from the Book of Life.
“You have a few names EVEN IN SARDIS who have not defiled their garments, and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.” Revelation 3:4
Just like Daniel in Babylon, we can purpose not to defile ourselves. If we stand with the Lord, he too will stand with us. Jesus promises the few names in Sardis that he will confess their names before the Father and his angels when he returns, because they have confessed him with their lives and deeds.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank.” Daniel 1:8
“I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a FEW NAMES EVEN in Sardis who have NOT DEFILED THEIR GARMENTS; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Jesus to the Church in Sardis, Revelation 3:1-6
The Lord Jesus is very aware and concerned about our welfare as believers, both individually and corporately, and he is marking our records and weighing our progress. He affirms that we are good, but he also corrects our failures, warning us to repent. There are rewards for obedience and consequences for disobedience.

Have you given your life to Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior? He loves us so much that he, our creator, left heaven and came to earth, died for us on the cross, taking our sins upon him so that we may be forgiven and receive his righteousness.
