Controversial Topics

There seem to be certain areas or topics relating to the Christian life that once were almost no-brainers and practiced by the body of Christ for centuries from the early church days but were gradually discarded during the 20th Century.

For some reason, many of these things seem to be no longer taught much or practiced in the body of Christ, and in some instances completely ignored and deemed unnecessary. Yet, I have found that some of these matters affect our salvation as Christians because they directly violate God's clear commands in scripture.

Through ignorance, presumption, flippancy, and outright rebellion, modern Christianity is a far cry from what real Christianity was from the beginning.

In my years attending Pentecostal churches after I was born again, I never heard many of these things taught in the way scripture and early church fathers outline them.

Jesus warned that in the last days, the love of many would grow cold (Matthew 24:12) and the great falling away would happen (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3). I am convinced that some of these topics are not being taught in much of the body of Christ anymore because the church at large has become lukewarm and worldly, unlike the church of the ages past. Jesus told us this would happen in the last days. Also, we have an adversary working hard to send as many as he can to hell because he knows that his time is short.

I ask you to prayerfully consider the topics for yourself. I do not claim to have a full understanding, but simply present them for your reflection and consideration. After all, we all shall give account to the Lord for what we individually believe based on what his word declares.

I will attach useful external links under each of the topics.

Please prayerfully read, use your discernment, and ask the Lord to show you the truth as we are commanded to test every spirit (1 John 4:1-5) and also to study (the word) to show ourselves approved of God (2 Timothy 2:15). Do not believe anything without checking with God's word and prayer. Be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11).

These are not the days to blindly follow church culture and practices without enquiring in God's word for yourself as many churches have fallen away from the faith the Lord and his holy Apostles handed over to us. Jude tells us to contend for the faith handed to us (Jude:3-4). We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).
