Christ’s Wheat, Satan’s Tares, and the Final Harvest
Satan has his false churches, false Jesuses, false spirits, false brethren, false gospels, false anointings, false miracles, false deliverance, false revelations, false wisdom, false apostles, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and prophets. Satan counterfeits everything the Father does because he is a thief and deceiver.
The tares look like wheat; to the untrained eye, a tare looks a lot like wheat. You cannot tell them apart just by sight; you need the discernment of the Spirit of God. In his parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13, Jesus said the enemy plants tares among the wheat, and he, the Lord, will allow them to grow together until the harvest. The purpose of the tares is to choke the wheat, to render them unfruitful, and to kill them.
“The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.” Matthew 13:24-25
Beloved in the church, there are tares and wheat. Not all are children of God. False prophets and the false believers who follow them are usually in the church or God, pretending to be Christians.
Satan’s ministers also have churches, they have members, they have pulpits, they use Bibles, they mention the name of Jesus, they pray, they speak in tongues, they perform miracles, they teach from the Bible, and they even mix among true servants of God. The tares are not out in the wilderness somewhere; they are inside the church and look like Christians.
Apostle Paul called them deceitful workers, false apostles, and ministers of Satan. They are masquerades just like their father, who has transformed himself into an angel of light.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
What is their purpose? Paul tells us in verse 4 that it is to preach another Jesus, another gospel, and to bring another spirit (not the Holy Spirit), the end goal being to deceive and win souls for their father, the devil. They have been deceived and seek to deceive.
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:4
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13
Now the reason why they deceive many is because they know how to masquerade. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They have mastered the art of mimicking the sheep. But to the one who has the HOLY SPIRIT, they are visible because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, and he reveals the counterfeit. Jesus said, “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16). This fruit is righteousness and true holiness, which is the only fruit the devil can never counterfeit because there is nothing holy in him.
Those who allow themselves to remain deceived never had a love for the truth. They like the lies these charlatans peddle. But what did Jesus tell his angels? “Let both grow together until the harvest…lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them” (Matthew 13:30, 29). Jesus knows the tares very well; he knows who the false brethren are who have crept in secretly among his sheep, and he knows the ministers of Satan; they have not taken him by surprise.
The fact that he allows them to continue their operations does not mean he is not aware. He knows. He allows them to continue until the harvest on the last day. Jesus, in his wisdom, says if he gathers up the false ones now, the wheat may also be rooted up. These false ones serve a purpose, and Jesus leaves them to their gymnastics for now, but their judgment is set; they are not getting away with anything.
But the elect must be watchful and not be deceived. They must be aware of the tares and stay away from them. Do not get entangled with them, or they will choke the life of God in you. Mark and avoid them. Warn the elect and leave these false brethren and false apostles to the Lord. Their judgment from long ago is not idle. They may seem to get away with their deceptions, but they have not. Their judgment is coming, and they will weep and gnash their teeth together with their father. But you, child of God, do not get mixed up with them, listen to them, or greet them lest you share in their sins because they are enemies of God. Do not be caught on his enemy’s side.
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” 2 Peter 2:1-3
“24 The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man who sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tears?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13:24-30
